The team kicks off an important four-game series tonight against the Kansas City Royals with Justin Verlander (6-6, 4.61 ERA) taking the mound, while Jason Vargas (6-2, 3.30 ERA) starts for KC. The Royals are red hot, having won their last seven games, while the Tigers are 3-4.
