Game 38: Tigers (25-12) at Red Sox (20-21), 7:10 PM

Doesn’t seeing the Red Sox under .500 as we near the 40 game mark make you all warm and fuzzy inside?

Anyway, the Tigers look to win their tenth straight road game tonight. A win would also clinch a series win in Boston, a feat the Tigers haven’t accomplished since August 2006, when they won two out of three at Fenway. You may remember that series as the one in which Placido Polanco dislocated his shoulder and Pudge Rodriguez had to play second base.

Anyway, your lineups:

SP: Rick Porcello

1. Ian Kinsler (2B)
2. Torii Hunter (RF)
3. Miguel Cabrera (1B)
4. Victor Martinez (DH)
5. Austin Jackson (CF)
6. Nick Castellanos (3B)
7. Alex Avila (C)
8. Andrew Romine (SS)
9. Rajai Davis (LF)

SP: John Lackey

1. Dustin Pedroia (2B)
2. Shane Victorino (RF)
3. David Ortiz (DH)
4. Mike Napoli (1B)
5. Grady Sizemore (CF)
6. Mike Carp (LF)
7. A.J. Pierzynski (C)
8. Xander Bogaerts (SS)
9. Brock Holt (3B)

A Red Sox player did go on the DL with a fractured finger today. Perhaps surprisingly, it wasn’t Xander Bogaerts, who took an Evan Reed fastball to the hand last night; it was Will Middlebrooks. Brock Holt is at third base tonight for Boston.
