Phil Coke induces the game and series ending pop-up to send the Tigers to the World Series. Coke pitched two innings of scoreless relief to close up the 8-1 win, as the Tigers swept the Yankees out of the ALCS.

This series victory marked the Tigers’ third straight postseason series victory over the Yankees. The Tigers are just the second team to beat Yankees in back-to-back postseasons. They’re also the first team to sweep the Yankees in a best-of-7 series since the 1976 Cincinnati Reds.
