Here are some tigers comments…and a lineup suggestion…but don’t tell Leyland

I’m supposed to be spending the day with the wife and child, however, the wife took a nap and the child is playing garden with stuffed animals and after sending me to the “store” to buy “seeds” I decided to check on some internetting things.

What? They’re fake.

  • The Tigers have lost five of their last six games. That’s not good.
  • The Tigers are two games behind the Chicago White Sox and still have seven games to play against them.
  • Brennan Boesch, Delmon Young, and Quintin Berry walk into a bar. The bartender says, “What’cha want to watch.” Berry claps his hands.
  • Miguel Cabrera has 99 RBI. RBI’s. Ribeye’s.
  • Alex Avila has the highest walk rate on the team. But let’s never bat him second.
  • Quintin Berry has the highest strikeout rate on the team, but he’s probably better than Young and Boesch. Zing!
  • Andy Dirks has a .506 slugging percentage, but let’s never bat him fifth.

Okay, okay.

RHP: Jackson, Avila, Cabrera, Fielder, Dirks, Peralta, Boesch, Young, Infante

LHP: Jackson, Infante, Cabrera, Fielder, Dirks, Peralta, Avila, Young, Berry

  • Austin Jackson, Prince Fielder, and Quintin Berry walk into a bar. The bartender cheers because he sees Fielder. Berry claps.

can we option boesch and trade delmon for a sack of old baseballs or something else marginally useful

and then start the sack of old baseballs at DH

Your lineups make way too much sense. So there’s no way they will happen.

Love your lineups, Josh. I have been wanting Avila in the 2nd spot all year. He may not have the power or avg like last year, but he simply gets on base too much to be stuck hitting 8th. Oh well. We can dream.

Never understood why he doesn’t bat higher in the lineup. Always has quality at bats.

why does Infante still have to bat 9th against RH? Jackson/infante/Cabrera/Fielder/Dirks/Alex/Peralta/Boesch-Berry-Young (doesn’t matter much with those 3

Personally, I like the fact that Infante turns the lineup around. He may get one fewer plate appearance per game, but he is also on base at a 36% clip, which is important for the Jackson/Dirks/Cabrera/Fielder combo

Dirks has been worse against left handers so I would rather see Peralta behind Fielder on those days
